We are pleased to introduce the elemense fragrance collection by Nippon Kodo.

elemense is a contemporary Japanese fragrance series inspired by the five elements of nature—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each fragrance expresses a unique state of emotion and natural energy, designed to bring balance and harmony to the surrounding space.

Rather than traditional incense, elemense focuses on the relationship between scent, space, and perception, offering a refined sensory experience rooted in modern Japanese aesthetics.

The Five Fragrances:

Suou (蘇芳) / Wood

Represents harmony, growth, and grounding. A soft woody fragrance featuring notes such as sandalwood and hinoki, creating a natural and calming atmosphere.

Kiyobi (浄火) / Fire

Represents purification, renewal, and energy. A bright and uplifting fragrance based on frankincense and resinous accords, designed to refresh and reset the space.

Nukubai (温灰) / Earth

Represents stability, warmth, and comfort. A deep, earthy fragrance with woody and patchouli-inspired notes, offering a grounded and soothing presence.

Sekishin (石心) / Metal

Represents clarity, focus, and intention. A clean and refined fragrance with mineral and soft floral tones, creating a sense of transparency and calm concentration.

Tetsukon (鉄紺) / Water

Represents stillness, introspection, and flow. A soft and smooth fragrance with musky and woody nuances, designed for deep relaxation and quiet reflection.

A compact size ideal for sampling and personal use. Each stick has an approximate burn time of 30 minutes.

Extra-thick incense design (approx. 4mm diameter) for a richer and longer-lasting fragrance experience.
